Manchester City set to compete with rivals United for La Liga superstar
Manchester City are set to compete with rivals United over the signing of the 24-year-old defensive prospect, Pau Torres, as per Goal. City have got a busy summer window coming up as they have been linked with some of the biggest names in European football.

Having said that, it is safe to assume that Pau will not be a top priority target for the Cityzens, whose defense has been absolutely rock-solid this season. Their cross-town rivals however, do not share the same story. If the defence of the Sky Blues has been eye catching, it is the defensive lapses for the Red Devils.
The Spaniard is highly rated and is among the top defenders in La Liga. Torres, 24, has got a long way to go and can prove to be a short-term as well as a long-term solution to the defensive woes of the Red Devils. For City, the addition of Torres would be nothing but surplus as there are currently four centre-backs in Aymeric Laporte, John Stones, Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake.
It is highly likely that the Cityzens would want to focus their attention elsewhere.
The former Premier League champions have been linked with Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland. Messi leaving Barcelona is highly unlikely as the former La Liga champions have improved a lot over the past few months and the future looks bright for the Blaugrana. Despite being parched for a winning project, it is highly likely that Messi would want to stay back and help his side grow.
Haaland on the other hand, continues to be heavily linked to Manchester City as the Sky Blues will enter the summer window for a striker. Sergio Aguero hasn’t yet renewed his contract with the club and it is highly unlikely that City would want to keep the Argentine for another season. The 32-year-old has been struck with injuries over the past year and half.
With a very busy summer window fast approaching, who do you think Manchester City must sign?
