Serie A giants lurking in the background for Manchester City superstar
Sergio Aguero is arguably the greatest player that Manchester City has produced in the modern era. The Argentine is the most successful non-English striker in the Premier League and needless to say, he is the record goal-scorer for the Sky Blues.
Despite having such a stellar record to make his case for a contract renewal, the past year hasn’t been kind to the 32-year-old.

Constant injuries have meant that the 32-year-old has spent a lot of time on the bench and he has hardly started this season. Though, fully fit now, Aguero is still a long way from proving himself for another season at the Etihad, now that the former Premier League champions are eyeing Erling Haaland. Into the final months of his contract, Aguero will most likely leave the club at the end of the season and Calciomercato understands that Juventus and Inter Milan have contacted the Argentine over a possible stint in the Serie A.
The Serie A rivals aren’t the only ones interested in the 32-year-old though. Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in signing the marquee striker for free this summer.
A move to the Serie A looks highly unlikely, given that Aguero could possibly play alongside Lionel Messi next season. Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona is still uncertain and a lot about Aguero’s future might very well depend on the 33-year-old’s decision about his future, at the end of this season.
With the Cityzens being linked with Erling Haaland and Gabriel Jesus fighting hard to prove his case, Aguero’s time at Manchester City, after a lenghty period of 10 years might finally reach a conclusion.
Though nothing is concrete at the moment, the likeliness of the Argentine renewing his stay at the Etihad Stadium is decreasing with each passing day, now that only a handful number of games are left in the season. Slotting in Sergio Aguero in a settled Manchester City does seem tough at the moment but it will be interesting to see the attitude of the striker, when he does come out to play.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola did hint that Aguero’s return is very near and
