Manchester City hoping to land Serie A superstar in coming months
Manchester City have been flying high in recent times after a slow start to the season. Crippled with injuries and illnesses, Manchester City were not even in the frame of the top four but a 13-game win streak has ensured that Pep Guardiola and his men stay at the top of the table for the foreseeable future. The Cityzens are currently the league leaders in the Premier League and are up by five points with a game in hand. Sunday’s victory against Liverpool at Anfield ensured that the Sky Blues have now separated themselves from the reigning champions by a margin of ten points.
Having said that, the former Premier League champions have lacked a striker for the most part of this season and with Aguero and Jesus struggling to find the back of the net, the Cityzens have turned to Serie A for a permanent solution. It should come as no surprise that Romelu Lukaku has been on the radar of the Premier League giants and Manchester City are considering a move for the Inter man, as per Daily Mail.
Manchester City have got a very important summer window ahead of them ahead of the next season.

Romelu Lukaku arrived at Inter Milan from Manchester United back in 2019 for a club-record fee of €80 million and the Belgian hasn’t looked back then. The 28-year-old has been a revelation for the Serie A giants and has been instrumental in his side’s bid for the Serie A title.
However, the Cityzens have got a tough choice to make. They can only choose to land Erling Haaland or Romelu Lukaku as landing both the players will ensure a financial strain. Haaland, 20, has already shown that he is capable of becoming a prolific goal-scorer and is regarded as one of the brighter talents in European football. Moreover, the Norwegian striker has been linked with a move to Manchester City.
Sergio Aguero is in the final year of his contract and looks set to leave the club at the end of this season. The Argentine has only managed to find himself a combined total of 141 minutes of playtime owing to injuries and COVID-19. The very fact that he is 32 at the moment might be one of the factors stopping the former Premier League champions from renewing the contract of their record goal-scorer.
Gabriel Jesus has failed to cash-in on the opportunities given to him and his future at the club looks doubtful at the moment. Though the Brazilian is likely to stay on for the next season, it is highly unlikely that he is going to get regular first-team minutes, should either Lukaku or Haaland arrive at the club.
