Manchester City starlet being circled by Premier League giants
Eric Garcia is leaving Manchester City at the end of this season. Everyone knows it and even manager Pep Guardiola expects the 20-year-old to leave. For months now, Garcia has been on the radar of Barcelona and it is believed that a pre-transfer agreement is already in place. Having agreed to personal terms with Barcelona, it all depends on the Blaugrana and their desire to bring him in the winter window lest he will join the Catalan giants as a free agent. However, there seems to be a twist in the tale and it looks like it will not be all too easy for the former La Liga champions. Arsenal are aiming to sabotage the defender’s move to Barcelona and divert him towards the Emirates Stadium instead, as per Mundo Deportivo.

Eric Garcia is all set to leave the Cityzens as a free agent post the expiry of his contract at the end of this season.
A winter transfer for the 20-year-old looks highly unlikely as the club that is touted to land him is currently under a mountain of debt and only a free transfer would be suiting their needs in their current financial state.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has previously worked with Eric Garcia and perhaps that is the reason why the Gunners are pushing for the Spaniard.
The Gunners will know at the back of their minds that the player is fixated on joining Barcelona and hence they will need to do something spectacular to convince Eric to join Arsenal. Having said that, Manchester City are likely to accept a decent bid for their defender, if one is made in the next couple of days. The negotiation though will be up to the player and this is where the Gunners would be hoping Arteta’s relationship with Garcia to play right to their advantage.
Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be interested in the player and this saga is likely to end in a three-way race between Barcelona, PSG, and Arsenal. For now, however, Barcelona stand as the as clear favorites to land the prospect.
With the winter window coming to a close and the season already having touched the halfway mark, do you think Eric Garcia will leave the club or will he change his mind?
