Manchester City attack set to undergo a revolution before the next season
Manchester City have started to find their groove at the right time. The Sky Blues have won their last ten games across all competitions and are just two points below the Premier League leaders in Manchester United with a game in hand. The defence has been rock-solid this season. The attack was slow to catch-up with, but it is starting to find its groove. Chances are being created in plenty but the team is lacking a proper finisher at the moment. Sergio Aguero is sidelined with COVID-19 and Gabriel Jesus has been inconsistent this season and the pundits at the Etihad stadium are starting to feel that he may not be the man after all, to replace Sergio Aguero once the Argentine leaves. The Sun reports that the former Premier League champions are aiming to land Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi before the start of the next season.

Haaland has developed into one of the leading prospects in European football and is already one of the deadlier finishers. Manchester City have been linked with the Norwegian striker and are considered to be the favourites to land the 20-year-old. This is because Alf-Inge, father of Haaland, was a former Sky Blues player. Moreover, when Sancho was sold to Dortmund, a 15% sell-on clause was included in the deal and it said to be worth £15 million, now. Ciryzens could opt to strike off the clause in their bid to land the upcoming superstar.
Lionel Messi on the other hand, has been linked with a move away from Barcelona in the past few months. There is however uncertainty surrounding his future with the player himself confirming that he will take a decision only after the season ends. It is believed that the decision process would depend largely on how Barcelona fare in this season. Manchester City however, are set to face stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of the Argentine ace, who would leave as a free agent, should he decide to do so.
