Manchester City rumoured to be interested in Real Madrid star
Manchester City and rivals United were two of the many clubs interested in signing Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian striker joined Real Madrid in 2016 as an 18-year-old and hasn’t looked back since. That was until now. Martin Odegaard has grown increasingly frustrated at Real Madrid with the lack of game-time and the 22-year-old has asked the club for a transfer. As per MEN sport, Manchester City and rivals United are not really excited about Odegaard leaving Real Madrid and their interest can be considered to be extinguished.

The attacking midfielder is one of the brighter prospects in European football and many clubs were in the race to land the youngster before he decided to join Real Madrid.
For now, Manchester City are in no need of an extra midfielder and manager Pep Guardiola also confirmed that the club will not be making any new singings this January and will push through the season with the existing squad. New signings will only be made in the summer window.
The Cityzens boast of a solid midfield play with the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne, and Phil Foden making merry with the ball. KDB’s finishing has been off this season but his visionary passing has grown to be even more immaculate and has been a vital cog in this Manchester City attack. Phil Foden was earlier described to be out-of-favor at Manchester City but the English midfielder has earned his place in the squad and has been racking up some brilliant performances.
The only two vulnerable spots in the Cityzens XI are that of the left-back and the holding midfielder. Fernandinho is set to leave the club at the end of this season as a free agent and naturally, he will be vacating the position of the holding midfielder. It will be a huge gap to fill in and for that the Sky Blues have been keeping an eye on Manuel Locatelli. The Italian sensation is being observed by many clubs and the race to land the 23-year-old can prove to be tiresome for the Cityzens. Coming to the left-flank, the former Premier League champions have been linked with Renan Lodi and it may seem that a summer move may be on the cards for the Atletico defender.
