Renan Lodi plays as a left-back for Atletico Madrid and has been linked with a move to the Etihad stadium. The position of the left-back has been the one constant source of worry for the former Barcelona manager. Benjamin Mendy was meant to be the player to occupy that position but poor form coupled with recurrent injuries has meant that he is nowhere near where Guardiola wants him to be. Oleksandr Zinchenko has been pushed down the pecking order and is himself linked with a move away from the club.
Sergio Aguero is arguably Manchester City’s best modern player of all time. Having found the net a record 256 times for the Sky Blues, Sergio Aguero has been the most prolific goal-scorer for Manchester City in the modern era. The 32-year-old, however, is yet to sign a contract extension and by the looks of it, it is highly unlikely that he will. Having said that, Gabriel Jesus was supposed to be the one to replace Aguero but the Brazilian hasn’t made it big this season, thus far.
Erling Haaland is one of the top-most talents in Europe and is the target of many clubs including rivals United. Haaland’s father Alf-Inge was a former Sky Blues player and the Cityzens are hoping that it may give the edge to them over the other potential suitors.
Another target for Pep is Romelu Lukaku. The former Red Devils striker has grown by leaps and bounds as a player and is one of the deadliest marksmen in Europe, at the moment.
SL Benfica prospect Darwin Nunez is also said to be on the radar of the former Premier League champions.
Club veteran Fernandinho is most likely to leave at the end of the season and Manchester City have lined up prospect Manuel Locatelli as a potential target. Though the Cityzens are just monitoring the growth of the player, for now, it remains to be seen if they will make a move for him next summer.
