Taylor Harwood-Bellis is one of the brighter talents to have come up the ranks at Manchester City.

Considered to be the future of Manchester City defense, Harwood Bellis, 18, is being considered as a possible loan-option by Blackburn Rovers, as per Lancashire Telegraph. The youngster is one of the brighter talents at the Etihad at the moment and has already made his first-team debut. With a natural essence to his game, Taylor is also a leader, having led the U23 side to the Youth Cup.

The thinktank at Manchester City rates the youngster highly and sees the option of a loan-move as crucial to grooming him. Blackburn Rovers are currently in the Championship which is one of the most grueling competitions in European football. The 18-year-old will be guaranteed some quality time on the pitch over at Blackburn but the Cityzens are stuck in a tricky situation of their own.

Perhaps, a loan deal might not be possible until the dying embers of the winter window and that is because several players at the Etihad have tested positive for COVID-19 and the Cityzens are operating at less than maximum capacity at the moment. Having said that, it must be mentioned that now is the ideal time to give some first-team action at Manchester City itself to Harwood-Bellis. Barring the crucial Manchester United later this week, the Cityzens are expected to bag three points against Brighton, Aston Villa, Birmingham, and West Brom (in no particular order). Perhaps Pep Guardiola might decide to give the defensive workhorses in Ruben Dias and John Stones some rest and launch Taylor.

A permanent sale of the starlet is off the table and only a loan-move is being considered where the youngster will be guaranteed some first-team experience. With Fernandinho in the final year of his contract, it is highly unlikely that City are going to renew his contract. Having said that, Taylor Harwood-Bellis should get the opportunity to step up and take over the reins. It will only befit a homegrown talent to replace one of Manchester City’s veteran defensive players.
