Real Madrid planning to rob Manchester City of their top talent
Real Madrid have been keeping close tabs on Manchester City’s Phil Foden as they hope to land him in the coming weeks.
Phil Foden has been warming the benches this season with the English International featuring only twice this season for Manchester City. The 20-year-old has not been handed enough game time since his last appearance in October. The reigning La Liga champions have been keeping close tabs on this situation and are aiming to land the 24-year-old with the promise of providing him with game-time. This comes from Mirror but there is a big ‘If’ attached to it.

The Catalan giants are counting on the current situation at the Etihad stadium where the midfielder’s career is going nowhere, at the moment, in all honesty. However, the situation might change drastically if Pep Guardiola decides to start him on a regular basis. The former Barcelona boss, however, has a very good image of Phil Foden and promoted him to the first team when he was first appointed as the manager of Manchester City.
Foden,20, has got a lot of time left in his playing career and he is considered to be a prodigy in the midfield. In the long run, if groomed properly, he can succeed Kevin de Bruyne and can lead the Sky Blues attack from the midfield.
Real Madrid are eyeing Foden as their midfield is aging. Luka Modric is one of the vital cogs in the Real Madrid engine and he is 35. Toni Kroos is 31-years-old and Casemiro is 28-years-old. The only young talent that they have is Frederico Valverde and the idea behind targeting Phil Foden is to team them up together.
Let’s be realistic here. Manchester City are not going to let go of one of their brightest talents and not to a team that is a 13-time European champion. Phil Foden will soon get what he deserves and that is minutes on the pitch and when that does happen, all these rumors will vanish away. The English midfielder is in the safe hands of Pep Guardiola and he must not lose his patience. Frustration brings anger and anger provides one with an opportunity to translate it into performances. Phil Foden should keep his head down for now and grab the opportunities that he is being given. His time will come eventually.
