Angelino Joins RB Leipzig on Loan
By David Crook
Manchester City third choice left back, Angelino, has joined Leipzig on loan.
When Manchester City re-signed Angelino from PSV in Summer 2019 there were plenty of eye brows raised by fans. Generally, we all struggled to understand quite why he had been brought back.
It was not to say he was a bad player, far from it, but there were doubts as to why we needed another left back as back up to the back up.
However our supply of left backs did begin to thin out as Fabian Delph was sold to Everton and Oleks Zinchenko picked up an injury.

Pundits suggested we had brought Angelino back as a bit of good business. His performances at PSV had alerted other Clubs and he was being actively scouted. Yet City had all the cards, retaining a biy back option which they duly exercised for around £10 million.
So far this season he has actually made a total of 13 appearances so far this season in all competitions, earning a couple of assists along the way.
In fact it is his crossing ability which has helped to define his time at City and he has looked at home against certain teams. Realistically in the second half of the season his chances would be limited, so loaning him out appears to be a good move.
Angelino is joining RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga until the end of the season and has a chance to earn a permanent move, with a future tansfer fee of €25 million already agreed.
He will join an exciting attacking side where his crossing could really find a home. Hopefully he will have a productive time and be able to seal a permanent move.
Angelino has impressed with his professionalism at City, willingly accepting his back up role and taking the opportunity to work with the best coaches in the world to improve his ability.
We wish him all the best.
