As Manchester City fans there is one thing which unites us – the excitement of signing a new player and the possibility it may bring.

Much of Manchester City’s recruitment in the last 10 years has been exemplary. Taking time to learn the lessons of the past, the Club now  undertakes sufficient background checks to assure themselves of the character of the player as well as his on field attributes.

In a multi billion pound business there is little room for mistakes. Transfer business has largely been divided into three distinct types. Ready for first team action, potential future stars and short term solutions.

The best that can be said is that every signing has been in the intentions of the Club, albeit some have not worked out. Often that is not a failure of scouting, but other factors like playing time and difficulty to adjust to a new country.

More from Man City Square

Man City Square runs the rule over a group of young players who are being scouted by many of Europe’s biggest clubs. These are the players identified as having the potential to really break through to the next level.

These players are united in that, with great coaching, value can be added and this is why we feel they would fit the profile for Manchester City. These are all attacking players who we feel could sit in the edge of the first team right now.
