Manchester City have released their latest set of accounts and these confirm the Club has rapidly grown to be one of the biggest in European football.

For those Manchester City fans of a certain age the prospect of our Club outperforming many of the established clubs which form the European elite is a wonderful sight to behold.

Since the acquisition by Sheikh Mansour some 11 years ago we have been the fastest growing football club in the world and the latest set of financial accounts serves to confirm this. Continued success on the field where we have dominated the English domestic scene has been coupled with vast increases in worldwide sponsorship deals.

For the 12 month period ending 30 June 2019, Manchester City have posted record revenues of £535 million.

It has always been the case that Manchester United are the English club with the greatest revenues but we have now reached the point where City are closing in on this top spot. Indeed, should similar growth be sustained during the next 12 months we may well over take our neighbours.

More from Man City Square

When Sheikh Mansour purchased Manchester City in August 2008 he paid around £200 million. Since then in playing staff and infrastructure there has been a total investment of around £1.3 billion.

Currently the playing squad alone is ranked as the most valuable in world football at around £1.15 billion and when you take into account the other assets and the strength of the company it is not hard to realise that the actual current value of the club has surpassed the £3 billion mark.

This will probably mean that City are now the 3rd most valuable club in world football. If you ever wanted to know why the existing European elite clubs feared the incoming Manchester City and did everything to try and stop the growth then it is now abundantly clear.

City have now reached the point in their growth where they are not only self sustaining but are attracting top tier investment from across world industry. Financial fair play worries are long gone other than blatant attempts to try to open matters from 7 years ago.The unique structure of the City Football Group allows the club to continue to grow in markets not open to other clubs.

So make no mistake, the publication of these new financial results makes City an even bigger target of jealousy. So prepare for these brilliant financial results to be accompanied by hundreds of articles demeaning the club all written in the bitter red tears of desperate fan boys.
