David Silva Nominated for PFA Player of the Month Award

How fitting to discover that David Silva has been nominated for the PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month Award for his displays in October, in what is his last season as a Manchester City player.

The great thing about this particular Player of the Month Award is it is voted for by the fans – so all of you readers have the chance to make a difference and to try and help bring the award home to David Silva. Voting costs nothing and involves just a click on the link here and given the strength of the competition, he will need every vote possible to come out on top!

October was a good month for our little David Silva. He scored two important League goals – against Aston Villa and away at Crystal Palace. More importantly it was his performances in both of these matches which really helped to drive the result.

Whoscored.com awarded his performances as 8.25 and 8.72 in these two games, illustrating his contribution to the team. Even though he is just 2 months shy of his 34th birthday he is still turning in match changing displays in these kind of critical games.

I have said before that given this season is his swan song we should be celebrating every moment he is on the pitch, because he will soon have moved on to pastures new. So, to try and get him a Player of the Month award seems the least we can do as fans.

He is up against the following players for the award -Ricardo Pereira, Jack Grealish, Christian Pulisic, Adama Traore and jamie Vardy.
