Manchester City have had to contend with a run of injuries to key players which is beginning to defy logic and rather than easing up is actually getting worse.
The sight of Manchester City player Rodri limping off against Atalanta in the Champions League is unfortunately a familiar sight. There has been a regularity to our injuries this season which is extraordinary. Another player picks up an injury and it would appear we are cursed.
Usually the saying suggests that these things will even themselves out over the course of a season but that is not going to be the case. If we are to defend our title then we must do it with one hand tied behind our back.
Before the season had really started we lost Leroy Sane to a potentially serious knee injury and his recovery is not expected to be in full flow until next February/March time.

Aymeric Laporte, our defensive lynchpin them suffered the same injury with a similar prognosis. Laporte will be aiming for a February return to action.
Oleks Zinchenko has sustained a knee injury and we are awaiting the extent to be revealed but given the Club have made a statement suggests this could be another serious injury lay off.
Rodrigo has now picked up a hamstring issue which is likely to see him sidelined for around a month.
Nicolas Otamendi is just returning from a back injury sustained on International duty with Argentina.
The procession of injuries is hampering our title defence as our rhythm and momentum is disrupted. And of course we are missing some of our key players too, making every match harder than it should be.
Our rivals are somehow managing to keep largely injury free so far which surely cannot be sustained, not that I am wishing injury on any player.
Still, doing things the hard way has long been the City way.
