With just under two weeks left to go for the first kick-off, Manchester City players are up for selection in the latest edition of Fantasy Football.

Along with the anticipation of the return of football, the return of the Fantasy Football is also eagerly anticipated.

City players are hot property given last year’s performances and it will be a tough choice in choosing the right player to feature in your team.

£100 million to spend and only three players per team to choose, it is often the biggest decision any football supporter will have to make prior to the season starting.

All players, values and points were used with the official Premier League fantasy football.

Goalkeepers

Only two goalkeepers to choose from with Ederson and Claudio Bravo both up for selection for the users. The obvious choice was the Brazilian ‘keeper as he remains the first choice for City as he will accumulate the most points in the only position available.

Ederson was second highest point scorer within the goalkeeper department within the league, only second to Manchester United’s David De Gea. The Spaniard achieved one more clean sheet in the 38 games with only 14 points between them. Valued at £5.5 million, he will likely replicate his impressive season amassing over 150 points per season.

Claudio Bravo is valued at £5.0 million and is expensive considering he is unlikely to play any competitive games, providing the number one is suspended or injured. Other keepers valued at less are more likely to better options than the Chilean number one

Defenders

The defence is an underrated aspect of gaining the points for your team. Clean sheet gets you four points and a goal by a defender gets you six points, so it is important to choose wisely.

Nicolas Otamendi was the highest scoring defender, largely due to him scoring four goals and him playing a part in the team’s 18 clean sheets. He featured heavily, however now Aymeric Laporte has settled in, John Stones had a stellar World Cup and Vincent Kompany is now fit, he faces a fight to be a regular in the team.

More from Man City Square

Laporte is likely to be in the first eleven for the opening games as he has had a full pre-season but his partner remains up in the air with no obvious choices. Otamendi is priced a million more than the other three at £6.5m.

Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy will be first choices, however as they don’t go up for corners and have the opportunity to score goals, you will have to rely on the assists and clean sheets to accumulate their points.

Midfielders

Two players scored over 200 points last season and will feature in most selections this year round. Raheem Sterling (229 points) and Kevin De Bruyne (209) were both high up on the goalscoring and assist charts last season and are likely to replicate their success and be in that same position again should they remain they fit.

Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez are both expected to thrive and are likely to score over 150 points at less than the price than the previously stars. They will provide goals and assists from the wing positions, with both players having a point to prove to their national boss and new gaffer.

Sterling is priced at 11million and De Bruyne at 10, with Sane (9.5), Mahrez (9.0), David Silva (8.5), Bernardo Silva (7.5) also good options. Ilkay Gundogan and Fernadinho are both priced at 5.5 million, while the youngsters of Phil Foden, Brahim Diaz and Oleksandr Zinchenko value at 5.0 million.

Strikers

Only two options to front your attack, with both likely to stick the ball in the net and bring the points home. Sergio Aguero is the City’s highest goal scorer and was last season’s leading scorer with 21 goals, which amassed him over 169 points in total.

Gabriel Jesus is the other credible option to be your main man up top. The Brazilian will add more assists and has the ability to create more chances but his finishing ability is inferior to the Argentinean great.

Both had injury problems last year and will be regularly rotated by Pep Guardiola when both fit, so it is difficult to choose the right City star to be in attack. It will be an easier option to go with Aubameyang of Arsenal or Kane of Tottenham as they will lead the line more frequently, but more chances will come City forwards way, which will give you the bragging rights over friends and family.
