When it seemed City would fall short of the 100 point mark, up stepped Gabriel Jesus. With his goal, the season ended on a high. In truth, Manchester City were off their usual stellar best for large a large majority of the game.

With the season essentially done, you could forgive the players for already having one foot on a warm sandy beach. I would forgive them after the season we’ve had, thankfully Pep wouldn’t. The push until the final minutes saw more records fall, in what has already been a record-breaking season.

So how did our guys do?

Bravo – 5.

Once again he didn’t fill me full of confidence. Very rarely did he hold a shot and was lucky other City players were around. Luckily he wasn’t tested too much.

Danilo – 6.

Did another decent job at right back in place of Kyle Walker. Got forward well and was probably more defensively switched on than we get with Walker. Still second choice to the England man though.

More from Man City Square

Stones – 6.

Center back pairing of the future for the Blues? Stones did well after quite a slow start.

Laporte – 7.

Did just as well as Stones but got a 7 because of his run in the 20th minute. Had it been David Silva or KDB we’d be raving. Running though the middle he pirouetted past a Saints defender before continuing on.

Delph – 6.

Solid game but was sacrificed on the hour for Jesus as Pep pushed for the win.

Fernandinho – 7.

Did his defensive job very well again. Was let down with his finishing though, a shot way over the bar in the second half being the case in point.

De Bruyne – 6.

Had a quiet game by his standards with his passes uncharacteristically being picked off and inaccurate. Was his mind already partially in Russia? He did provide that ball over the top though for the winning goal.

Gundogan – 6.

The question for me is what are we doing to get Ilkay’s moustache a Premier League winners medal? Both he and his moustache were replaced by Foden in the final ten minutes.

Sterling – 7.

Full of running and I want to point out the pivot and strength to stay on his feet Sterling had. In the 40th minute he could have gone down, but continued to drive forward. I liked him as the ‘striker’ in the starting formation.

Bernardo – 6.

Wasn’t his best game, but he did provide some threats.

Sane – 6.

Same as Bernardo. Provided a few threats, but nothing like you’d expect.

Next: Pep Guardiola: 'Sergio's Decision'.

Jesus (sub on 59) – 7.

Came on with 30 minutes to go and made an instant impact. Scored the goal in stoppage time to get us to that 100 points.

Diaz (sub on 78) – 6.

Got his medal but didn’t really have time to impact.

Foden (sub on 82) – 6.

Youngest English Premier League medal winner. Got his much deserved medal but didn’t have time to impact too much.
