News reports coming out of Argentina claim ex Manchester City player, Carlos Tevez, injured himself. Why is that news, I hear you ask? Well the injury reportedly happened while visiting his half-brother in jail.

Of course, Carlos Tevez has denied this in the typical Tevez way, but is there any truth to the story? Re-joining his boyhood club for now the third time, you would think the 34-year-old would be a little smarter.

There are no photos proving a kick around in the jail, nor is there video. Although you probably wouldn’t expect there to be any, with it being a highly secure building. It is clear though, that Carlos was off for two days with a torn solus muscle, before reporting back to his club.

The solus muscle can be found in the back of the lower leg, running from just below the knee all the way to the ankle. It is a powerful muscle and is used for standing and walking. The report stated that his club, Boca Juniors, were furious with him for not so much doing it, but lying about it.

It won’t be the first time he would have enraged the Buenos Aires side. Signing for them in 2015 he returned to his boyhood club in order to finish his career. It was to bring down the curtain on a successful, albeit controversial, career.

Alongside the trophies in Argentina, Brazil, Italy and England, were the negative stories. There was the third-party ownership of Tevez, while at West Ham and United. While not actually his fault, his goal for the Hammers at the expense of future club United saw West Ham barely survive relegation.

Of course Manchester City fans will remember his heroics, but also his temper. Refusing to come on in the September Champions League fixture left City fans, and Roberto Mancini fuming. In his post match conference, the City boss vowed he would never put on a City shirt again. as a result, the Argentinian went on vacation.

He did eventually return to the blues a little over four months later having failing to secure a transfer away, he had been fined numerous weeks wages along with his loyalty bonus. The situation was quite similar to this seasons Diego Costa’s fall out with Antonio Conte. The differnce, I think, was the City board backed the City boss.

Returning against Chelsea, he actually provided the assist for Samir Nasri’s winning goal. That win kept the title dream alive and of course there was the hat-trick against Norwich City and a vital role in getting Joey Barton sent off in that final day.
