Lately at Manchester City we have been seeing the antithesis of what a Pep Guardiola side should be. The speed of with the ball moves among the players it looks like a game of ice hockey.

The precision that De Bruyne and Silva pick apart opposing defenses is like a surgeon working on a patient. There is no way to stop them. Everything is clicking and we are lucky enough to watch this game in and game out.

In his peak years at FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich Pep Guardiola sides played soccer  that inspired the world and changed the way modern managers think. His attacking style, along with the quick passing, was glorious to watch.

There were questions as to wether this style would work in the Premier League.  Last season he struggled to work in the players to his system. This year he has had enormous backing and now he can go ahead create a machine. One can argue that Manchester City are playing the best brand of soccer in the world.

Throughout six matches in the Premier League Manchester City have 5 wins and one draw. They have scored 21 goals while conceding 2 goals with 4 clean sheets. This truly is elite level soccer. Four of the top 10 leaders in passes in the Premier League are Manchester City players.

Three of the top 10 leaders in goals and assists in the Premier League are Manchester City players. He has his players flourishing in his style and the results are coming with them. This isn’t playing good soccer with no results, we are seeing proper style and the results come with them.

Manchester City have currently average 670.5 passes per match with an a pass accuracy of 89%. The quick, short passing allows City to pick the defenses apart and when they are this accurate no one can stop this.

Manchester City have scored 21 goals with 22 big chances created. This isn’t like last year when City would create and not finish, the players are now lethal when these chances are created.

Not only has the attack been solid but the defense is now doing their job. City reinforced in the fullback position and its paying dividends. The dynamism they bring allow them to attack but also get back and help defend.

Last year, Pep had to chose whether to send the fullbacks forward or keep the back to defend. They were to old and slow to get up and down the pitch for a full match. So far there has only been one error leading to a goal. Now City are a complete team with the attack being deadly and the defense locking it down.
