Let’s face it: Eliaquim Mangala is not coming back to Manchester City. Turkey is one destination for the out-of-favor Sky Blues defender.
Manchester City fans can be forgiven for forgetting about Eliaquim Mangala. He’s been the most disappointing transfer of recent memory outside of Claudio Bravo.
Well, just a refresher, he’s on loan at Valencia in La Liga. He is another outcast of Pep Guardiola‘s regime. Expect him to be shuttled out the door with the likes of Pablo Zabaleta, Aleksandar Kolarov, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna and probably Nicolas Otamendi.

So where will Mangala go?
One possible landing spot is Turkey. City Watch reports Galatasaray is an interested party. The website quotes the Turkish club’s boss Igor Tudor insisting, “We must first strengthen the defence.”
Citing Sözcü, City Watch claims Galatasaray will offer a three-year deal under £3 million in wages for Mangala. In contrast, City ended up paying up to £42 million for the 26-year-old — yeah, not a good deal.
I don’t think it’s a good deal for Tudor and Galatasaray either. But if they want him, go ahead take him — not my problem anymore. Who knows? He might excel in the lesser Super Lig as he did with Porto in the Primeira Liga, a big fish in smallish pond sort of situation.
Mangala’s current payer of wages, Valencia, might have something to say about him going to Instanbul. On top of City Watch, the Daily Star also writes that the La Liga side wants a permanent move with Mangala.

The issue between Valencia and City is of course price. The Daily Star further reports City won’t be moved for anything less than £16 million. Valencia is only willing to spend £12 million.
Hopefully, some accord will be struck. I want Mangala expelled from the Etihad like the cursed object he is. Any money, no matter how small, can be put to use for getting his replacement in central defense and putting his disastrous transfer behind City.
