Danny Rose isn’t the only Tottenham Hotspur star that tickles Pep Guardiola’s fancy for a move to Manchester City.

Apparently Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is not only fond of Danny Rose of Tottenham Hotspur. He supposedly covets Spurs forward Dele Alli and right back Kyle Walker too.

The Manchester Evening News reports Guardiola likes all three. The Catalan also recently came out and said he wants to add more English players to the roster according to ESPN.

So should City supporters expect to see the trio in sky blue kits next season?

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

I’m not overly optimistic for two, let alone three, of Spurs’ most prized assets defecting to the Etihad. BBC Sport records Guardiola complaining about the price of English players. He said:

"“I would like to have English players, believe me, but they are so expensive.”"

Also recall City paid almost £100 million combined for Raheem Sterling and John Stones

So I think snagging one, most likely Rose, is the most realistic scenario. MEN unfortunately notes Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy is infamously a shrewd negotiator when it comes to selling Spurs talent, citing the £85.3 million Real Madrid shoveled out for Gareth Bale.

Also working against this raid is that Dele Alli is one of the most lauded young talents in the game. Spurs most likely wouldn’t sell him at his £34.6 million value, as per Transfermarkt, but instead for a much higher price.

The same applies to Rose and Walker. They are also the best full back tandem in the Premier League; they’re critical to Spurs success the last two seasons. I believe Mauricio Pochettino and Levy are loathe to give up key members of their club’s core to a league rival like City.

I don’t expect they will unless City saws off its arms or something for those three.

So as much as I applaud the notion of strip-mining the side I believe poses the biggest long-term threat to City dominating the EPL with titles, I don’t think it’s likely the Blues can pry away Spurs’ stars easily.
