Matchday 19 is highlighted by the enormous clash between Liverpool and Manchester City. However, the weekend begins with Friday night football at Hull City.
The final football matches of 2016 will take place in the English Premier League this weekend. The match-week will bleed slightly into the new year and what a match-week we have. A London derby and a clash between two title contenders at Anfield. The neutral fan should have a nice New Years, meanwhile City and Liverpool supporters probably have little else on the mind since last weekend.

City took care of business away to Hull and Liverpool did the same against a hapless Stoke side. Both teams will fancy themselves as title challengers and with Chelsea more than a few points ahead, both will need the points in this game. Everything says we should see a high scoring explosive affair late on New Years Eve, but in the past such high profile fixtures have disappointed as both teams play safe. With each teams lack of cohesive defending that may not be the case because an early goal could open the floodgates and provide a real Premier League classic.
Of course City vs. Liverpool isn’t the only match of the weekend. Title favorites Chelsea looks to stay on track against Stoke, while Tottenham face a tough away trip to Watford. The final game of the weekend is a London derby in which newly appointed Sam Allardyce leads Crystal Palace against Arsenal at the Emirates.
