Best Case Scenario For Manchester City This Summer
By Josh Hill
With the Summer Transfer Window in full-effect, Manchester City will be expected to be very busy in the coming weeks. Despite a lack of moves thus far, the club has been linked with several high-profile players throughout Europe. In order to compete for the Barclays Premier League crown in 2016, the club will need to improve the squad before the start of the new season. In order to make a deep run in the UEFA Champions League, changes must be made. Last week, we discussed the worst case scenario for City in the transfer market. With this in mind, here is a look at the signings and sales that would be the best case scenario for Manchester City this summer.

In:
Fabian Delph
The Aston Villa midfielder has been linked with an £8 million move to Manchester City, according to ESPN FC. City is loaded in the midfield, but has struggled to find a consistent holding midfielder. Delph could be that player and at £8 million is well worth the risk. Even if he sits, he is homegrown and that helps tremendously.
Kevin De Bruyne
The Belgian struggled in his first run in the Premier League. However, his time away from England has only improved his stock. Coming off a Player of the Year campaign in the Bundesliga, City will be desperately chasing the signature of the Wolfsburg star.
Paul Pogba
Paul Pogba is possibly the biggest transfer target of the summer. Despite a link with Barcelona and a move next summer, City has been in talks with the player. The Mirror reports that City is leading the race to acquire the Italian and a £71 million bid could be looming. Pogba is the quality of player that can shift the balance of power in the Premier League immediately.
Raheem Sterling
Another high-profile target, City has been in pursuit of the Liverpool outsider for several weeks. After £35 million and £40 million bids were rejected, City appears poised to offer £50 million. Liverpool would be crazy not to accept this deal and Sterling would be thrilled with the opportunity to join the Citizens.
Out:
Edin Dzeko
In order to fund these moves, key players must be sold by City. One that appears set to join the Serie A is Edin Dzeko. His time at the Etihad appears over after the club spent big on Wilfried Bony. Dzeko could fetch a hefty fee from a club like AS Roma and City will be quick to use the funds.
Stevan Jovetic
Another striker that has likely seen his run in Manchester come to an end, Jovetic could be following Dzeko to the Serie A. Jovetic has been linked with a move to Inter Milan and a reunion with Roberto Mancini. Another suitor for the player is Liverpool and he could be included in a player plus cash deal to bring Sterling to City.
