Goal-scoring has never been an isse for Manchester City in the last 4-5 years but a slow start this season has meant that the former Premier League champions need to be prepared for the worst. Though the Cityzens are back to playing their best football, there still hangs a big question mark over the future of Sergio Aguero at the club.

Having said that, the Sky Blues have already started looking at options worthy of taking over the goal-scoring duties from their record goal-scorer in Sergio Aguero. Among those linked with a move to Manchester City stands a £28 million rated striker who happens to be a former AC Milan man, as per Todofichajes. Andre Silva, the Portuguese has attracted a lot of eyeballs this season with his stellar display, racking up 17 goals in just 19 games.

Manchester City are not the only ones aware of the Lusitanian’s exploits though. Barcelona and Inter Milan are also said to be interested in the 25-year-old. Inter Milan have got Lautaro Martinez who also happens to be linked with a move to Barcelona but with the current financial crisis at the Blaugrana, it is highly unlikely that a switch to Span for the Argentine is going to happen next summer. Inter Milan can afford to be bullish about their chances to renew the contract of their prospect in Martinez but in the odd event that it does not happen, they are likely to turn their heads toward Andre Silva.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

While Manchester City have scored 43 goals in the Premier League, only a fraction of them has come from their natural strikers in Gabriel Jesus and Aguero. Both the players have been in and out of the squad this season owing to injuries and illness.

Manchester City have been linked with Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku as well and it is highly probable that landing either of them would be their priority in the summer market. Haaland is one of the brighter prospects in European football and the Cityzens can be sure of shelling out a huge chunk from their transfer warchest to land the Norweigan from Dortmund ahead of the next season. It is not all that simple though.

Haaland’s contract is rumored to contain a release clause worth £66 million that only gets activated in 2022. It might not be a bad idea for the former Premier League champions to wait for another season to land their man, whose father once played for the Sky Blues.

Romelu Lukaku on the other hand has been a revelation for Inter Milan ever since he arrived from Manchester United after a series of underwhelming displays at the Premier League. The Belgian has got a boast-worthy record of 54 goals from 78 games while featuring for the Serie A giants and is on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain as well.

Aguero is in the final year of his contract and there have been no signs of a renewal for the 32-year-old, who is arguably the most successful player in Manchester City’s history.

Frankfurt will be open to the idea of a potential sale involving their red-hot striker who still has many years left in his career. Having said that, it is highly unlikely that Silva is going to be a summer priority for the Citzyens.
