Manchester City were 3-1 winners over Leicester City in the FA Cup to qualify for this season's quarter-final.
After their 2-1 victory over Arsenal to advance to the final of the League Cup against Chelsea, Manchester City shifted their attention to the FA Cup, another competition where they remain in contention for potential silverware.
The Sky Blues were tasked against their fellow Women's Super League side, Leicester City, and they attained a comfortable 3-1 scoreline to move on to the next round.
Leila Ouahabi, Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw and recently recruited Kerolin Niccoli were the players to get Manchester their three goals. For Leicester City, they managed to get a goal back late into the match after being 3-0 down, but despite Nelly Las's successful effort, it didn't amount to anything for the Foxes.
Man City are now in the quarter-final of the FA Cup and waiting to see who they will be playing next, with the FA Cup draw scheduled for Tuesday, the 11th of February.
A very well-done performance for the Sky Blues, who will be hoping that they can go very far in this season's FA Cup and even be in with a chance to claim the coveted trophy.
Leila Ouahabi's post-match thoughts
"I'm really happy to help the team. I saw a lot of players in the box, and I decided quickly to shoot with my foot in that situation."
"I'm very happy for the team, we played a really good game. We played well in the first half and in the second half too, we had a lot of opportunities and sometimes there were moments that we could have kept the ball better, but it's difficult because Leicester are a good team."
"We've had a lot of games, we're working hard ahead of these games, but we have a competitive mentality and I think this is the important thing and we need to continue in this way."
