It's known by now that Julian Alvarez could be leaving Manchester City after multiple reports have suggested so and a recent tweet from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Julian signed on for Manchester City back in 2022, agreeing to a five-year contract with the Sky Blues. Two years later, and it seems as if the player may be on his way out of the club after reports have emerged since the opening of the Summer transfer window.

Despite being included in historic moments for Manchester City these last two seasons, from winning their first-ever treble, winning the club's fourth Premier League title in a row or just getting his name on the scoresheet when present, Julian has seemingly expressed his wishes to leave the club in the quest for more important game time.

When rumours appeared, it was believed Julian wasn't favouring a move to La Liga 2021 winners Atletico Madrid. However, according to the latest news it does look as if he will be potentially heading over to the club before the end of the transfer window.

If he decides to leave he would be a big loss for Man City as it would leave them with only one recognised striker, Erling Haaland. His contributions over the last two seasons were great. He wanted more game time despite playing 54 games last season and being involved in 32 goals, 19 goals and 13 assists. As Pep has said many times "It is what it is" and "If a player wants to leave, then leave".

The City manager has spoken about this situation very recently, stating that the player himself will think about it and then inform the club what he wants to do.

This means City's remaining attackers or any additional signings will have to be on song and deliver. Julian's contributions will need to be replaced; he showed to be quite versatile, and he could play many positions other than a striker. This means the club will have one less world-class player and if they don't replace him, the reliance will be on the youngsters, like McAtee.

This exit could hamper their squad depth as well. It would have been thought that he'd have stayed for a long time when he arrived, but things don't always work out. However, the price attached to the striker is great for business and that can be a positive if the deal goes through.
