Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given some insight on the future of two players who have been linked with an exit from the club.
There have been a few players of the Manchester City squad that have had speculations surrounding potential moves from the club in these last few weeks, and two of those names have been Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and World Cup winner Julian Alvarez.
With the mix of Ederson, Joao Cancelo and Kalvin Phillips, Kevin De Bruyne and Julian Alavarez have been two other Cityzen players that have had heavy links that told the two may not be a part of the Man City team for the next campaign.
During a press conference, Man City boss Pep Guardiola discussed the situation of De Bruyne and Alvarez for the upcoming season and whether or not they'd be members of his squad when the time comes.
Starting with Kevin De Bruyne, "The club informed me that they didn't have an offer. I don't know what will happen but I want him to stay. He has the credit to decide his future himself. What he has done for us is massive so he can decide. The information I have now is he will stay."
As for Julian, Pep has insisted that they're aren't any developments as of right now, "I don't think about replacing. I knew he said he will think about it. I know he wants to play in important moments, but the other players (want that) too. We have 18 or 19 players who want to play in the important games. I read he has to think about it, so okay think about it and after that, he will inform us what he wants to do."
Going by the manager's words, it does seem as if De Bruyne will remain at Manchester City for the foreseeable future, but for Alvarez, his place is looking rather uncertain as Pep has said that the player is indeed considering a move away from the Premier League champions due to lack of important game time.
There have been several reports about Alvarez's possible exit, due to the exact reason given by Guardiola. Since his arrival, Julian has made an impact on the Man City centre stage, however, being a substitute for Erling Haaland has proven to prevent Alvarez from the minutes he would have wanted.
Atletico Madrid came as the main club with real interest in the Man City striker, but it was suggested that the player himself wasn't too keen on Atletico being his next destination.
Paris Saint-Germain have also popped up in this potential race for Alvarez, and with Kylian Mbappe's departure to Real Madrid, the Ligue 1 club could be hoping to strengthen their attack for next season. However, there has been no further news about this.
With a few more weeks of the transfer window still remaining, it could be assumed that both of these players will continue to feature in the Manchester City team.
