Man City are actively involved in the summer transfer window. As things stand, Savinho is their only signing of the summer, costing them €25m. However, as per Transfermarkt, Man City have made an impressive €41m from player sales. With Julian Alvarez also on the verge of being sold, Man City have a lot of budgetting space to operate with between now and the end of the summer transfer window.

So, naturally, they have become interested in signing a Real Madrid player. Currently, Real Madrid are the best club in the world and the champions of Europe. This is a position which Man City wish to re-claim in the upcoming season. Therefore, by signing a Real Madrid star player, Pep Guardiola would be strengthening his own team, while also weakening Real Madrid.

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Man City have not forgotten about Rodrygo. What's more, is that they've received a boost from Real Madrid, who could become more inclined to part ways with Rodrygo. This is because Rodrygo is most likely to be dropped from the Real Madrid team, amid the recent arrival of Kylian Mbappe.

As things stand, though, Rodrygo is not in any immediate rush to leave Real Madrid. In fact, the Brazil international is believed to be carrying on as normal, despite the outside noise of media publications claiming his position is under threat. So, until any concrete move is made, Rodrygo is a Real Madrid player and he will continue acting like one.

Man City recently won the Community Shield, preventing their local rivals Man United in the process. Now, they turn their attention to the Premier League, where they will face Chelsea in the opening matchweek. A tough match, but one which Pep Guardiola must get right to start his bid to retain the Premier League title.

Do you think Real Madrid should sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid?
