Manchester City took on Ipswich Town in the 22nd week of the Premier League, and it was a perfect day for the Cityzens, who put six past their opponents to win 6-0.

After failing to win their match against Brentford despite being 2-0 up last week, Man City were in desperate need of a victory going into their Ipswich town meeting.

And for the first time in a while in the PL, City were able to destroy their opposition by being clinical in front of goal and slotting six away to earn themselves a much-needed win.

The goals came from Erling Haaland, who had just announced his extended partnership with the club, Jeremy Doku, Mateo Kovacic, James McAtee and a brace from Phil Foden.

Manchester City are finally back into the top four with 38 points to their name, six away from third, Nottingham Forest, and second, Arsenal, but 12 away from first-placed Liverpool.

However, Man City could go back to fifth on Monday night as Chelsea take on Wolverhampton Wanderers, and if the Blues do achieve a win, then they will take over the Cityzens.

Whatever the current rankings, City will be positive after the victory as it could help them going forward, especially with their next two upcoming fixtures which include Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and then, a few days later, a Premier League meeting with Chelsea.

Player of the match, Phil Foden, reacts to the 6-0 win.

"I thought it was our best this season, in terms of all-round play. Keeping possession at important times. We defended well as well. It's one of our best performances this year."

"We're just building momentum and keeping players fit is important. We had a lot of injuries. I put it down to that really."

"People are in better shape. The team is bonding better on the pitch and we saw that today. When we score we're not rushing it and going for the next goal, we're keeping possession."

"The build-up play was good. Gundogan and Kovacic were important, how they broke the press and kept the ball well. It was a good match."

"You never know what can happen. The aim is to stay in the top four and reach the top four at the moment. That's the aim for now."

"It's good to see me back scoring goals and with a smile on my face and enjoying my football. I've had a few goals recently and I want to keep going now and adding to that."

"It's all seemed to change for me in front of goal. I think I've been a bit unlucky before these goals I've been scoring with a few chances. If I can keep arriving in the box with these players we have got then they will keep finding me. I'm delighted to keep on scoring."
