Manchester City prepare for a huge Premier League fixture this weekend as they meet leaders Liverpool.

Matchweek 26 of the Premier League will see top-four-battling Manchester City take on top-of-the-table Liverpool in a clash that would potentially define the outcome of both clubs' seasons, especially for the Sky Blues.

After a tough week in Europe after their elimination from the Champions League, Man City will be hoping they can get themselves sorted out in time for their upcoming match, where the result will be crucial as they chase a top-four finish and continue to struggle to do as only one point keeps them ahead of Chelsea and Bournemouth.

Due to their top eight and table-winning display in the Champions League, Liverpool didn't require any additional playoff round and instead, played in a midweek Premier League game against Aston Villa, who also were already safe in the UCL after their eight-place finish.

The match between Liverpool and Villa ended in a 2-2 draw, while they did drop points, the Reds still remain eight points ahead of second-place Arsenal, who will be hoping for some dramatic turn of events so they can actually have a chance of competing against the leaders.

A win for Arne Slot's side would be another right step in the direction of claiming this season's Premier League title, while for Manchester City, three points would contribute to their campaign of trying to end the season within the top four and return to the Champions League next season.

Pep Guardiola ahead of the Super Sunday clash

"We are not in a bad moment. Apart from Madrid, who were the better team and a better team right now. I had the feeling in recent years in the Champions League, we could compete with any team. Always we were there."

"This period in the Premier League is massively important for us. In the Premier League, we have done good, good games. Even when we lost 5-1 against Arsenal but we played well for 60 minutes."

"In other games, like Newcastle, we played with high quality. The games are different, strength of the opponent is different. We need to try and stay there and qualify next season for where we were on Wednesday."

"Consistency is similar to Jugren (Klopp). They (Liverpool) deserve to be up there fighting with Arsenal for the title."

"Top team in many aspects. Lost just one game in the Premier League. That's why it is a good test for us."

Erling Haaland and John Stones update

"Don't know yet. Tomorrow we will know (Haaland)."

"It's better to have Erling on the pitch. Everybody is responsible for the good things and bad things for the team but obviously, with Erling we are better."

"He is injured (Stones) - a difficult one. In the next days, we will know if he needs surgery or not.
