Manchester City played their midweek Women's Super League fixture against West ham on Wednesday evening, which ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw.
Back from the international break, Manchester City took on Tottenham in the WSL during the weekend, where they were 2-1 winners to kick the month off. Their next match was against ninth-placed West ham on Wednesday evening.
It took all the way until the 80th minute for the deadlock to finally break, as Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw responded to Mary Fowler's cross to make it 1-0.
It seemed as if the game would end with a hard-fought single-goal win for the Cityzens, but the 91st minute saw West ham's Manuela Pavi pull one back for her side, much to the disheartenment of Manchester City.
While Man City do come out of this contest with a point, they'll be highly frustrated not to have gotten themselves the crucial victory that would have given them three points.
While the Sky Blues are just one point behind third-placed Arsenal and four away from Manchester United, it is to be remembered that the two clubs mentioned have both played one game less than City.
The club have a hectic schedule for the month of March and have so far played two matches, all of these results will determine how the end of the season could look for them.
And while West ham gave their all to end the match with something for themselves, Manchester City will feel as if this was a game they should have won, especially as they face a quadruple Chelsea fixture in a row in three different competitions.
Next up for Manchester City are Aston Villa, who they prepare to take on in the FA Cup quarter-final.
Gareth Taylor's overview
"Yeah, we're disappointed. I think we had some issues in the first half, really struggling to find any kind of rhythm."
"It was really difficult with their pressure they were putting on us and we had difficulties with the pitch as well. We adjusted some things at half-time and felt better in the second period."
"We need to review this as we always go. Fortunately, we have another game to move onto really quickly and try to iron out some of the issues we were having in the first half."
