While Manchester City was able to defeat Ipswich Town on Saturday, the last bit of the match was fairly brutal with injuries. Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo, and others suffered various issues, and on Monday, manager Enzo Maresca addressed how long some might be out.

The worst news is about Semenyo. Maresca said he will be out for "eight weeks," which is, obviously, a chunk of the season. He had been playing brilliantly in the current campaign, and his absence will be felt. This is especially true if Jeremy Doku can't stay healthy for long stretches.

Semenyo entered the match on Saturday late, and then hurt his knee soon after. He was able to finish the match, but wasn't able to run at full speed. City was, in essence, playing with 10 men on the pitch when Semenyo was in the match, but he couldn't be substituted.

For Erling Haaland, Maresca at first said he would be available for Tuesday's Champions League match against AEK Athens, but then clarified that the club would see how Haaland was during training on Monday. He at least was feeling better on Sunday than he was on Saturday after the Ipswich victory.

The Norwegian's ailment has to do with his foot. Near the end of the Ipswich match, he appeared to collide with Jack Clarke, and as the match ended, Haaland had a heavy limp while trying to exit the pitch as quickly as possible. The hope is he has more of a bruise than a break.

One positive aspect is that City doesn't have to travel to play AEK Athens, as the match is at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday beginning at 15:00 BST. This means injured players don't have to fly to another location just to see if they are healthy enough to play.

The other players who dealt with injuries during Saturday's match were Mateo Kovačić (knock), Matheus Nunes, and Nico O'Reilly. The latter might have simply aggravated an ongoing back issue, but not so much that he will definitely miss Tuesday's match. According to Enzo Maresca, the only player ruled out is Semenyo; the rest, including Haaland, currently have a chance to play.
