According to reports, Manchester City are finally on the verge of filling the void left by Sergio Aguero when he parted ways with the Club this past summer. The player likely to occupy the center man role for the defending champions is none other than Bayern Munich stalwart, Robert Lewandowski after reports emerged that the polish striker is dreaming of a move to the Premier League.

Lewandowski, 33, has been a revelation, amassing an enormous goal tally of 69 from the 59 matches he played during the 2021 calendar year. The Polish has been stunning breaking several records at the Bundesliga, among which he even breached the record of German Legend Gerd Muller for the highest number of goals scored in a single Bundesliga season.

The source further adds that the Bayern Munich Superstar is reportedly keen on testing himself in England, and knows that, at 33, he’s running out of time to do so. The former Dortmund man seems to be high on confidence after conquering German soil and now has set his sight on the English Premier League.

Sky Sports Germany (via FourFourTwo) claims the striker will “try to get the move in the summer.”

"”Robert Lewandowski wants to have this one big move, to Spain or the Premier League, so Lewandowski and his agent will try to get this move in the summer.””At the moment, they (Bayern Munich) want to extend his contract. But Lewandowski is dreaming of Spain and the Premier League.”"

This decision seems to play right into the hands of Manchester City with a move to Spain looking unlikely at the moment with both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona circling the likes of the star duo of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. After Ferran’s departure to the Blaugrana, Guardiola has been restricted to very few options in the attacking third especially with the City ranks missing a specialist number nine for the whole season due to various reasons.

Lewandowski’s arrival at the Etihad would not only bolster the City attack but also add to the legacy of the players occupying the striker position in Manchester blues. Manchester City are said to be in pursuit of Haaland alternatives after the Dortmund Star decided to opt for a La-Liga switch. The Bayern Munich striker would be a perfect fit for the bill with the power, pace, game sense, and especially the impeccable finishing ability he brings to the table.

So, if Lewandowski does opt for a Premier League switch, will he don the Manchester blues?
