According to reports, Raheem Sterling seems to be keen on following the footsteps of his fellow Manchester City mate, Ferran Torres by switching to the La-Liga Santander in the winter window, The Mirror understands.

Raheem, 26, was having a quiet start to this season by his standards scoring a solitary goal in the initial 10 fixtures. But, the former Liverpool man has upped the ante netting the ball 6 times in the next 10, playing a pivotal role in the Skyblues 10 match unbeaten streak.

The Englishman was reportedly learning Spanish from Ferran Torres, who signed a 5 year deal with Barcelona for £55 million-plus £10 million in variables.

Sterling seems to be seeking new challenges with just 18 months of his tenure left at the Etihad. Even Barcelona seem to be interested in Sterling after the winger set up a ‘language program’ with Torres, this comes as per the Athletic.

Having said that, Sterling was the top priority of Barcelona since the last summer with the Englishman not satisfied with the minutes he’s getting under his belt in Manchester City ranks. The 26-year-old though regained his goal-scoring form in the knack of time and put all the rumors to bed.

The focus of the Blaugrana then shifted on to Ferran Torres, who eventually became a culer for the record highest price the Catalans ever spent on a Spaniard.

Sterling though is a vital cog in the City’s current lineup and is going to play a crucial role if Guardiola’s men are to clinch their second Premier League title on the bounce.

In my opinion, these are mere speculations until and unless Sterling himself expresses his desire to opt for a Spanish switch. The 26-year-old is currently in the midst of a purple patch and has regained the faith of Pep Guardiola with his sublime form.

Nevertheless, the thought of leading the Catalan attack at the historic Camp Nou can lure any forward and Sterling will not be an exception?
