‘Game over’ for Manchester City in pursuit of Erling Haaland

Manchester City seem to have relinquished from the Erling Haaland race with the latest reports suggesting that Mino Raiola’s old school rivalry may play a pivotal role in Haaland enormous salary and the Cityzens not in a position to compromise their wage structure for signing a single player, even if he’s off the Norwegian’s stature, MEN understands.

The defending champions have been at the helm of transfer rumours, being linked with many premium strikers all around Europe ever since the last summer window, which saw Club legend Sergio Aguero, who has stunning numbers with 260 goals from 390 appearances for the Skyblues part ways with the club and join FC Barcelona on a Bosman.

Filling the void left by Aguero was never going to be an easy one for Pep Guardiola, but the Spanish veteran seems to have established the right tactics which are paying dividends for his side, scoring goals on a consistent basis even without an out and out striker in their ranks.

On the flip side, FC Barcelona have been linked heavily to Haaland ever since his star agent, Mino Raiola met the Spanish club President, Joan Laporta in Turin to discuss the feasibility of several transfers.
