According to reports, Manchester City are not going to sign their topmost priority, Dusan Vlahovic in the coming winter window. This comes amidst speculation that the Fiorentina striker wants to finish this season with the Serie A outfit. This is as per Wett Freunde.

Vlahovic, 21, has been the priority of many elite European clubs owing to his astronomic rise in European football in the last 12 months. The likes of Paris Saint Germain, Juventus, Manchester United, BVB Dortmund, Tottenham, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, and Manchester City are all in contention for the 21-year-old.

The Serbian has been phenomenal with his numbers in the recent past, netting the ball a record 69 times this year, on level with Christiano Ronaldo for the second place for most goals scored in a year. Lionel Messi holds the top spot with a mammoth 91 goals in a single calendar year.

When enquired about Vlahovic’s future in a recent interview, SkySport Italia expert, Gianluca Di Marzio stated

"“At the moment every club should consider Vlahovic because he is a machine, he is unbelievable. He has improved incredibly over the past 12 months and is incredibly talented.”He further added“I know he wants to stay with Fiorentina till June as he wants to finish the league here. He wants to bring Fiorentina to Europe. He wants to help Fiorentina reach Europa League or Champions League even if it is difficult. He wants to leave Fiorentina with a smile and people shouldn’t say ‘You didn’t want to renew the contract’.”Source: Wett Freunde."

The Serbian has made his intentions clear. He wants to continue his rich vein of form in Fiorentina colors and that rules out the possibility of any transfer in January.

Manchester City are firm footed in their title defense with 47 points, 6 points clear of 2nd placed  Liverpool and 3rd placed Chelsea with all the three sides having played 19 league fixtures apiece.

Guardiola is in no hurry whatsoever to sign a striker midway through the season and this just adds to it.

Having said that, Manchester City will be perfectly placed to touch down Vlahovic in the summer with their financial muscle getting even better with an addition of €55 million from the Ferran Torres transfer.

So, will Dusan Vlahovic don the Manchester blues in the next term?

Let us know.
