Manchester City forward Ferran Torres has been tipped to bid farewell to the Etihad in early January owing to a five-year deal agreement with Barcelona. According to reports, the operation is likely to be postponed to summer given the financial crisis at the Blaugrana and Manchester City will use the period to find a replacement for the former Valencia man.

Barcelona have been keen on reinforcing their resources, especially the attacking third under Spain and club legend Xavi Hernandez at the helm of things.

The Catalans have been linked to the likes of Raheem Sterling, Dusan Vlahovic, Edinson Cavani, Erling Haaland, and Ferran Torres in recent times.

Raheem, though, is back to his usual best, finding the back of the net three times in the last five outings for the Cityzens. Guardiola seems to have restored his faith in the 26-year-old with him slotting back into the starting 11 consistently in the last two weeks.

Ferran had a bright start to his career at the Etihad, netting the ball 13 times and assisting thrice in 35 appearances for the defending Champions.

Having said that, the 21-year-old was tipped to make the striker position his own after Aguero decided to part ways with Manchester City to join Barcelona as a free agent in the recently concluded summer window.

Torres seems to be seduced by the thought of leading the Barcelona attack and the amount of game time he’s going to get under his belt at the Camp Nou. City’s aspirations of landing a premier Striker in the form of Erling Haaland, Dusan Vlahovic, and Harry Kane would only mean that Ferran would head one way in the pecking order.

Ferran’s move to Barcelona looks like an inevitable one especially with both the parties benefitting from it.
