According to recent reports from the Mirror, Manchester City have joined Liverpool in pursuit of a certain premier league forward who is currently on loan at his current club.

The player in question is Wolverhampton Wanderer’s Korean striker Hwang Hee-Chan who joined the club on a loan from German Outfit RB Leipzig this summer.

Hwang Hee-Chan is the latest to emerge in Manchester City’s long list of striker targets, which include Alexandre LacazetteDominic Calvert Lewin, Victor Osimhen, Amine Gouiri, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe among others.

Manchester City have also been linked to Hwang’s striking partner Raul Jiminez.

Hwang has made an impressive start to life in the Premier League, scoring four times in eight appearances as Raul Jiminez is still figuring out his game after a frightening skull injury last season.

His impressive start has not gone unnoticed as clubs like Man City and Liverpool have had him watched several times.

Wolves, who have an option to buy Hwang, are aware that other clubs are scouting him and are keen to get him snap him up at the midway point of his season-long loan, i.e. during the January transfer window, to avoid any complications next summer.

The Korean is already a fan of the prospect of being at the Midlands club, but it remains to be seen if Wolves will be able to sign him considering the bidding war that may ensue during the January transfer window.

Do you think Hwang Hee-Chan is a good target for Pep Guardiola, do you think he will be able to perform at the club and play the number nine role Pep Guardiola is currently using in his formations? Or do you think the club should look to sign one of their other targets rather than go for Hwang? Do let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
