Rodri

This was a match where our defence needed assistance and someone needed to put their foot on the ball and take responsibility. It did not happen today although he took his goal well. Rodri was isolated at times with limited options, caught on the hop too often and exposed.

David Silva

Most of the best moments for City in the match went through Silva as he attempted to unlock the game. His quick flicking and movement dried up somewhat as the game went on. Crowded out and struggling to impact the midfield.

Ilkay Gundogan

Has a tendency to slow down the play and when we are already lacking intensity he can be soporific. Great technical player but made no impact upon the midfield. We needed Nigel De Jong.
