Norwich 3 Manchester City 2 : Player Ratings and MOTM

The Defence
Ederson
This was not the best performance of our Brazilian goalkeeper. Whilst his distribution was fluid, it was not quick enough to really propel our play. Some of that was a result of players not moving. Conceded three.

Kyle Walker
Pace and power defines his game but neither really featured. Instead his positioning was wrong and left him chasing around like a headless chicken. Did not really link well on the flank so City’s play became stunted.

John Stones
Watching Stones at the moment I can hear the comments of my dad echoing around my head. This is a big season for Stones as he really needs to step up and achieve a lengthy period of consistency. This is his first game back and his performance was disjointed. Created problems for us and made the Norwich movement look like peak Barcelona.
Player Rating 5
Nicolas Otamendi
I fully expect next time Nico plays he will score from a corner with a towering header, to offer some redemption for his lack of concentration which gifted goals. Any player can make a mistake but we can’t afford them when we are not attacking with purpose.

Oleks Zinchenko
Every game there are some positional errors and some misplaced passes so in many ways this match was not too dissimilar. The issue was that there was no one around him to help out as most were having worse games. We could do with Mendy fit enough to do something other than tweet.
