The majority of our players were involved in this game, even on loan Joe Hart. Currently at West Ham, the City stopper made some good saves. But he didn’t really offer the quick and precise distribution expected from the new generation of keeper.

Manchester City defenders, John Stones and Kyle Walker, played the full 90 minutes. For Walker that makes a total of 110 minutes over the two games, while annoyingly, John Stones played all 180 minutes.

There was no reason to do that, considering only two other England players were asked to do the same. Eric Dier (Spurs) and Harry Maguire (Leicester) both played the full 180 minutes. There was a scare when it seemed as if he’d overstretched, but continued to play. When he gets back with City, and assessed, hopefully he hasn’t done himself any damage.

On the other side, City have four representatives. Ederson was again an unused substitute and I would have liked to have seen him get at least a half of action over he two games. Gabby Jesus, who played an hour against Japan, played another 76 minutes at Wembley.

Again, there was a scare with him, but he continued on until being replaced by Roberto Firmino. Danilo wasn’t used and Fernandinho came in for the last 22 minutes. For us that was a good reasonably good rotation, with Jesus playing the most, 136 minutes total. Next up is Fernandinho, 112 minutes, Danilo got 90 and Ederson 0.
