Again, we will have to wait and see what happens after the German pair get back to Manchester. Leroy Sane played no part against France last night, but did play almost all of Friday’s fixture against England.

Ilkay Gundogan was desperate for match sharpness, and that was my hope for these two games. Again, subject to the assessment at City, he got a decent number of minutes under his belt.

Almost a full game on Friday was followed up with just over an hour this time around.
