In that season City did the double over the Clarets. 4-2 at our place in November of that year and a 1-0 win at their place the following March.

Recent history between our club and theirs makes for very good reading. One defeat in the last 40 years, in all competitions. The last time they beat us on our ground, was three years before Joe Mercer became our boss. A 5-2 defeat in 1963 at Maine Road being the last time a Burnley side left us with all the points.
Now, that is not to say they haven’t frustrated during that time. Six draws on our patch during that time, keeping it goal-less on more than one occasion. On current form though, and despite Burnleys good start, you’d have to say it should, on paper at least, follow the traditional result on Saturday.
