Future

Looking forward to the obviously bright future of Gabriel Jesus, it is tough to be anything but optimistic. The player is only nineteen years old, and possesses a rare blend of speed, agility, and an eye for goal. While it would be blasphemous for me to compare him to Sergio Aguero by anything other than physical attributes this early on, Jesus certainly looks the part.

At such a young age, maturity is often a factor to consider when looking at a player’s performance ceiling. An average nineteen year old, thrust into the spotlight in a media ravenous country, with massive wages being tossed at them, would likely make some poor decisions along the way.

However, it has been reported that the player brought over several family members, including his mother and brother with him to Manchester. With good familial guidance and all of the structure in the world available to him at the City grounds, Gabriel Jesus will have all of the support possible to help mold him into a success.

While the whole discussion of “will he be a club legend someday?” would be tastelessly premature, I for one am already a believer in young Jesus. If he continues to build on his West Ham and Swansea performances going forward, and continues to handle the pressure in the manner he has, Jesus could be a Man City fixture for many years to come.
