First Centerback: Jose Fonte

A solid veteran of the game, the 32 year-old Fonte has missed only four Premier League matches in the last three seasons. The Portuguese international can be counted on to defend for his life on any occasion and normally is seen wearing the Southampton arm-band as captain.

A healthy Vincent Kompany would most-likely overtake Fonte but the Saints defender has done a great job the last couple seasons taking some new players under his wing. He is also good in aerial battles and on set-pieces which adds another element to his game.
