Geronimo Rulli

A little confusing, this one. The Argentine arrived for £4 million from Uruguayan’s Deportivo Maldonado before being sent out on loan to Real Sociedad in Spain. However, that loan deal will become permanent next summer. City retain a buy-back clause to re-sign the keeper.

The closest thing we’ve seen to this kind of deal elsewhere is Real Madrid’s re-signing of striker Alvaro Morata from Juventus for £30 million. In addition to Rulli, City strengthened the youth side, with the arrivals of youth team duo Louie Moulden and Pawel Sokol.
