I am not sure even the most optimistic Manchester City fan would have expected to be 11 points clear at the top of the table barely into December. The most recent victory, coming at Old Trafford, was less than the dynamic, free-flowing football we’ve come to expect. But it was glorious.

The game itself was attack after attack from City, while United hoofed hopeful long balls up field. For a side, at home, who needed the win it seemed a pathetic attempt. From the post match interview to the altercation in the tunnel afterwards, we really do seem to be right under United’s skin. And it is a beautiful time to be alive.

But what talking points do I find from the game?
