The Women’s Super League had its eleventh match weekend, where more fixtures had crucial results.

The Women’s Super League has had its eleventh match weekend, where all sides attempted to get themselves vital results.

Going into these fixtures, Manchester City were leading the way over Chelsea, after their 3-0 win against Leicester City and Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Everton. Elsewhere, coming on the back of wins were Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Brighton. Aston Villa also had a win prior to this match weekend, which came in a midweek game that was postponed before.

While Chelsea were looking to decrease the gap and keep up with Manchester City in the WSL title race, the Cityzens would have been aiming to keep their lead. For the others in the top five, whilst their chances of challenging for the title are slightly less now, they’d still be looking to do their task by getting wins.

Among the games, there was Everton vs Arsenal, Brighton vs Chelsea, and Manchester United vs Tottenham.

This was the last round of Women’s Super League matches for December, and we have the full official placements on the table for this month, as all fixtures are done. There will be FA League Cup fixtures on the upcoming weekend, such as Liverpool vs Chelsea and Manchester United vs Tottenham. The WSL will be back on the 10th of January.

Let’s take a look at the results and standings from the match weekend.

Women’s Super League results

Everton 1-3 Arsenal

Leicester City 1-0 London

Manchester City 6-1 Aston Villa

West ham 2-2 Liverpool

Brighton 0-2 Chelsea

Manchester United 3-3 Tottenham

Victories for Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester City, while Manchester United and Tottenham had a big draw, and Manchester City remained with a six-point gap after getting a huge win.

It does seem as though this title race is heavily dependent on Manchester City, due to their lead. If they win or lose, it's fully down to them, and while others must fulfil their obligations by securing results, if Manchester City can remain getting wins, they’ll truly be on their way to WSL triumph.
