The European semi-finals' first legs got underway this week, with all clubs now having just one more match between them and getting to the finals this month.

The UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League had their first legs of the semi-final ties take center stage earlier in the week, with 12 clubs across the three different competitions battling it out to continue in contention for silverware.

As we've arrived into the last month of the season, there are only a few weeks left before the three winners of these competitions are crowned.

Six matches were displayed across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night, and almost every first leg saw a team finish with an advantage to their names for the second leg, besides only one which ended in a draw and both sides will be going into the return fixture almost starting off from scratch.

The UEFA Champions first leg results

  • Arsenal 0-1 Paris Saint-Germain
  • Barcelona 3-3 Inter Milan

Only one team came out victorious after the first legs of this season's semi-finals and that was Paris Saint-Germain who got themselves a 1-0 lead to defend. While Arsenal must give their all when they meet again and turn around the loss by achieving a win in order to make the final.

Elsewhere, nothing could separate Barcelona and Inter Milan on the night as they both produced a dramatic game of football. They will go into the second game with a draw and one of them must find a way to get their nose in front and book their place in Munich.

The Europa League first-leg results

  • Tottenham 3-1 Bodo/Glimt
  • Athletic Club 0-3 Manchester United

Two very dominant performances and scorelines for the two English sides in the Europa League. Both Man United and Tottenham ended their games with quite the aggregate scoreline, which will be a massive boost in their hopes of knocking out their opposition.

For Athletic Club and Bodo/Glimt, despite their impressive efforts we've seen, they weren't able to keep up with opponents, however, the ties are nowhere near done just yet and they will need to have a miracle if they want to be brought back into these ties.

The Conference League first-leg results

  • Djurgarden 1-4 Chelsea
  • Real Betis 2-1 Fiorentina

Chelsea destroyed Djurgadren with four goals to one and will be highly expected to remain in front in this fixture.

Real Betis's 2-1 win keeps them one goal ahead of Fiorentina, while they do have the edge, it's a very close one that could go either way.
