The FA Cup had its fourth round over the last few days, and the official draw for the next matches was made.
The FA Cup's stage provided essential results decided which sides' bid was to keep going.
Among the matches, Manchester City got a 2-0 win against Salford, Brentford put an end to Macclesfield, Liverpool defeated Brighton 3-0, and Newcastle were on form in their meeting with Aston Villa to get a 3-1 victory.
The draw for the next stage of the contest was made on Monday, prior to the Macclesfield vs Brentford game, and some very big games were announced.
City’s efforts against Salford prevented them from having to figure out how to deal with a dangerous scenario. They did enough to keep their opposition out, and two-half goals gained the victory.
For Man City, the FA Cup is another chance in their attempt to gain an honour this campaign. While they are competing in the Premier League alongside current leaders Arsenal and have Aston Villa nearby, it will be a big task for them to take over, but with only six points, they are in this race. City also booked themselves into the final of the Carabao Cup. And also, the Champions League is a prospect for them, and they will be looking to build on their positive start, in which they ended within the top eight for automatic qualification.
Overall, the Cityzens are in good placements in multiple leagues. So, they’ll be looking to go far in this FA Cup, especially with their performances proving that they're capable of doing so. And they now know who they'll have to subdue to take it a step closer to the end.
