10-man Manchester City beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday as Erling Haaland's 60th-minute strike proved the difference between the rivals.
It kept their winning record in the new Premier League season intact, as the Sky Blues remained on champions Arsenal's coattails with 12 points from a possible 12.
Here are three key talking points from the match:
1) Foden's moment of madness
Phil Foden got himself sent off in the 23rd minute for a silly boot up into Bruno Fernandes and forced his side to play with 10 men for more than an hour.
The forward first went down from a challenge from the United playmaker with his legs up, and then appeared to kick Fernandes down which led to referee Michael Oliver brandishing a straight red.
For a player with an otherwise pristine copybook of disciplinary record, this was truly shocking. Although replays showed the contact wasn't too nasty, it was still enough to send him off.
2) Haaland adds another feather to his cap
With his goal on Sunday, Erling Haaland added his name into the record books once more by becoming the highest scorer in the Manchester derby for Premier League games.
His strike was the ninth in total against the Red Devils (including a third at the Old Trafford), taking him past Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney, both of whom had struck eight times.
However, it was also the most controversial of them all as Haaland appeared to be in an offside position in the buildup and even saw the goal initially ruled out.
Following a careful VAR check though, the decision was overturned and the goal was given, as only West Ham (11), Wolves (10) and Crystal Palace (10) are now the teams he's scored more against in the Premier League.
3) Maresca's men prove they can grind it out
Sure, it was messy. It was unconvincing. But Enzo Maresca's side got the job done, nonetheless. And that's what matters, especially on big occasions like this one. As United pushed forward and threatened in attacking phases, Manchester City held firm.
They forced their struggling hosts to try their luck from a distance by choking all passing lanes and never allowing them a clear sight of goal, at least until the 95th minute when Bryan Mbeumo had the goal in front of him but saw his effort denied by Gianluigi Donnarumma.
This is exactly what champions do, and City today showed their championship mettle.
